A Different Kind of Heart Attack
When many of us visualize a heart attack, it is likely characterized by shooting pains in a person’s arm coupled with shortness of breath.
But this isn’t always the case, and often, heart attacks are not nearly as a dramatic. There is a different kind of heart attack, called “type 2,” that is caused by restricted blood flow, and it can be just as harmful as the complete blockage that occurs more commonly. This issue takes hold when a person’s heart needs more oxygen than it can get, causing an issue of demand. The warning signs are much more subtle in these instances, but they can be just as serious and deadly. Learn more from the American Heart Association.
