Make your ride a time for meditation.
Whether you are rushing to work in a totally packed train or heading home during rush hour, the Subway is about as far away from a sanctuary as you can get. But there are ways to be mindful and meditative that can include your commute on public transportation.
When riding, focus on the people around you, harnessing any positive energy. How can you do this? Breath deeply and softly gaze at another person on the subway car. Notice the thoughts or feelings that arise as you consider them, adopting a look filled with kindness. Then, do the same thing with another person around you.
