Taller People Less Likely to Develop Type 2 Diabetes

Those who have a few extra inches of height may be at an advantage when it comes to heart health.

Researchers found that for every 10 centimeters of additional height, there was a 41 percent reduced risk of developing type 2 diabetes in men and 33 percent in women. The thinking behind these findings is due to less fat buildup in the liver and more favorable cardiovascular factors when a person has more height. Even with some extra inches, however, the possibility of developing type 2 diabetes exists when poor diet and infrequent exercise occurs. Keep reading over at Medical News Today.
