Your Guide to Getting Accurate Blood Pressure Results at the Higi Station
Do you ever wonder if your blood pressure results are accurate, or right? It makes sense to want the most accurate numbers as possible! Especially if you’re tracking your numbers regularly and monitoring changes over time. A few common mistakes can get in the way of an accurate blood pressure result, but the following steps can help set you up for success.
Here’s how to prepare to take blood pressure test at the Higi Station:
Relax. Sit still for 5 minutes before the test. If your results seem high, take another test once you’ve been seated for a few minutes.
Do nothing. Distractions can get in the way of your blood pressure reading. Avoid talking or looking at your phone during the test.
Retake the test. Take at least two tests. Try to wait at least one minute between tests. In your Higi Account, you’ll be able to see each result and the average.
Learn what affects your blood pressure. Keep in mind that nicotine, caffeine, exercise, alcohol and more can affect your blood pressure.
Note: It’s normal for the average adult’s blood pressure to differ from one day to the next. Focus on trends in your numbers over time. If your average blood pressure over a week is high, talk to your doctor.
Here’s why you can trust your Higi Station to give you an accurate reading:
Higi Stations are cleared by the FDA. They each go through a rigorous quality assurance process to ensure accuracy. Each station is calibrated to be highly precise, and they undergo regular maintenance.
