Diabetes and High Blood Pressure

Nearly 2 in 3 people with diabetes report having high blood pressure. Having diabetes makes you more likely to experience health problems like heart disease, stroke, or kidney disease. Having high blood pressure on top of diabetes raises your risk even more. [4]

The American Diabetes Association recommends that people living with diabetes should aim for blood pressure lower than 140/90 mmHg. They also recommend checking your blood pressure on a regular basis to make sure you are in a healthy range. [5]
